In addition to practicing law, she owns a tax preparation franchise and co-leads Faith Consulate, a church she co-founded with her husband, Ben Simmons.

Garistine’s legal and teaching experience includes work with the North Carolina Banking Commission and instructing in accounting, business law, and tax at the university level. Her personal journey through caregiving and loss has deepened her commitment to helping others prepare for the unexpected and leave a lasting legacy.

She holds a B.S. in Accounting, an M.B.A., a J.D. from The Ohio State University, and an LL.M. from Saint Thomas University.
